About Me
About Me
I am a fourth year mechanical and aerospace engineering student at the University of Calgary. Aside from engineering, I have a passion for photography. To me, the ability to express emotion and tell a story through a still image is truly amazing and is a skill that I am working on everyday.
The journey to become an inspiring photographer is just beginning for me, but I intend to continue for as long as I can.
The Inspiration For Photography
I took interest in photography in late 2017 when I was on a trip in Japan. I was there competing for Handball in the Sanix Cup tournament representing my province of Alberta. On one of the rest days, we decided to head to a nearby city to spend the day as toursits to this country.
As we drove through the outskirts of a town, there were vast fields surrounded by mountains. As fog filled the valleys providing a layer of obscurity, a train passed by between us and the mountains. One of my teammates and close friend to this day, had captured the moment on his camera. Instantly I realized that, as simple as it is, being able to capture a short moment in time was absolutely incredible. Furthermore, I was drawn in by a photograph's ability to tell a story.
Fast forward a couple months and I find myself bringing home my first DSLR, a Canon EOS Rebel T6i. Even though it wasn’t a superb setup, I ended up bringing it along with me every where I went and throughout those adventures, I found a passion for capturing these moments myself.
